ICE and Other Federal Agents Become More Violent

What will it take to stop the violence by ICE and federal agents under Trump’s tyranny? As a nation, we need to wake up to the fact that Trump wants to dismantle our democracy and become our dictator. The biggest threat now is that if Trump invokes the Marshal, there will be no elections in November 2026, and he could achieve his goal of becoming a dictator.
In 2026, ICE arrested over 1,000 people in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area, though the arrests were suspected of immigration violations. During this period, ICE murdered two individuals, Renée Good and Alex Pretti, neither of whom was committing any crime. Notably, ICE removed a holstered gun from Alex Pretti and then fired nine shots into him, killing him at the scene.
In late January, ICE launched a crackdown in Portland and Lewiston, Maine, arresting more than 100 people over several days. DHS said some were targeted for serious crimes, while immigrant advocates reported widespread detentions, including those of individuals with lawful status. ICE enforcement operations have also been reported in Texas, linked to state-level cooperation on immigration enforcement. In early January, ICE participated in Operation Salvo in New York City, targeting alleged gang members and expanding federal enforcement in the city.
In October 2025, an ICE agent pushed Vural Elibol, a photojournalist who works for Turkey’s Anadolu Agency. She fell to the ground, sustaining injuries severe enough to require hospitalization. The incident occurred at the New York immigration court.
On September 30, 2025, ICE agents, along with agents from the Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), descended on the south side of Chicago, including an apartment, using ground and air units, including Black Hawk helicopters.
Trump is flexing his muscles to intimidate and assert his power, showing a willingness to use force to make the U.S. bow to his will. He does not care about the people of our country; he only cares about himself. Trump aims to become a dictator and eliminate those he considers enemies. The first group he targeted was illegal immigrants; he has also gone after his opponents.

In March 2025, a series of controversial deportations and retaliatory actions under the Trump administration drew national and judicial scrutiny. One case involved Kilmar Armando Ábrego García, a Salvadoran man who had court-ordered protections against removal since 2019 but was nonetheless deported to El Salvador’s Centro de Confinamiento del Terrorismo (CECOT) prison as part of the March deportation flights. Federal judges later ruled the deportation unlawful, ordering his return and criticizing the government’s handling of his case (U.S. District Court, 2025). Another case concerned “O.C.G.,” a Guatemalan man protected by a withholding-of-removal order, who was erroneously deported to Mexico in March 2025. Judge Brian Murphy found the government’s claim that the man had renounced fear of return to be based on inaccurate information and ordered his return (Murphy, 2025). Similarly, a migrant identified only as “Cristian” was wrongfully removed to El Salvador despite being a class member in a 2019 lawsuit; a judge later ordered his return, reaffirming the illegality of his deportation (Federal Court Order, 2025). In another major decision, U.S. District Judge James Boasberg ruled that at least 137 Venezuelan nationals deported to El Salvador under the Alien Enemies Act, allegedly due to supposed “Tren de Aragua” gang affiliations, had been denied constitutional due process and must be permitted to challenge their removals (Boasberg, 2025). Beyond these deportations, the administration appeared to target political opponents and perceived “enemies.” Former President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton were among those whose security clearances were revoked under a March 21, 2025, memorandum (White House Memorandum, 2025). Other figures—such as Letitia James, James Comey, Adam Schiff, John Bolton, John Brennan, Chris Krebs, Miles Taylor, Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, and various prosecutors, including Jack Smith, Alvin Bragg, and Fani Willis—were also reportedly subject to retaliatory investigations or public attacks by Trump and his allies (The Washington Post, 2025). These actions collectively underscore the administration’s disregard for judicial orders, due process, and political neutrality, raising profound concerns about the rule of law and democratic integrity in the United States.
